Conceptualize and design a book jacket for Timothy Egan's The Worst Hard Time. This project was typography driven and the rough and simple design reflects the hardship and history of Egan's story. The condensed title typography aims at illustrating the suffocating nature of the great American Dust Bowl, and it demonstrates this metaphorically and physically as it presses in on the boy on the cover.

Process included heavy photo retouching of cover image, conceptualizing cover design, formatting type

on front and back, and maintaining an organized layout given the large amount of text.
